Random Act

Recently, I traveled to our Mississippi Gulf Coast and New Orleans, LA for some R&R...just needed to get away.

While there, I stopped off at one of my Mom's favorite places in Long Beach...a local Pawn Shop where we got some of Robbie's "furnishings"...2 reasons for this: Cheap and help local Katrina victims.

As I was in there,  a beautiful Montana Silver bracelet caught my eye....Beautiful!

I decided to purchase....and made chit-chat with owners, husband and wife...cute couple.

A gentleman came in as I was making my purchase and he asked to speak to the husband owner...We will call the gentlemen "Jack"...was having  some problems...Gustav had taken a toll and he was stuggling still of course from Katrina... financially.

He began to cry. A 50-ish yr old man crying.

I felt awful. Seeing this man's pain.

I told the pawn shop owner/wife..I felt so sorry for him...his pain...she said they knew all their customers personally and that's how they business.

I paid X for my bracelet and then I watched an act of kindness....the husband opened the money drawer, took out an amount of money...and gave it to "Jack".

Jack said "I am good for it"....Owner replied..."I know".

I teared up.....

Our Coast is still struggling from Katrina...family's are stressed, our economy is a mess....and to see a small act of kindness...touched my heart.

Remember your state, your family, your friends on the Coast....the less fortunate....we never never know if we'll be in the same situation.
